Fallen...Never Forgotten
One single candle shining brightly in the corner
One single life captured away
One single breath to be taken for granted
One single teardrop that we cry every day
You gave the ultimate price for our freedom,
You left us behind with our sorrows and tears
You went to a place far beyond us for now,
You, left behind a hole that will not fill in years.
Your families and friends those who knew you the best,
They choose to remember the days,
When your candle shown brightly among those you loved
When you lived life in your own special way.
Many of us didn't know you in person
Many of us can't begin to explain,
Many of us can't even start to fathom
The loss or the sadness and pain.
What we can do however is make certain each day
To let your candle shine on,
In the things that we do the people we touch,
Make each day a bright newer dawn.
Let not your parting be in vain,
But give us the courage still,
To march ever forward, with renewed faith and love,
Survey every mountain and hill
Never taking for granted those nearest to us
This our memorial to your life
Quenching all hatred prejudice and sorrow,
Defeating every strife.
You gave your all for us the ultimate price our forefathers footsteps you followed and you never once faltered.. a nation so sad yet so grateful wishes to convey to those you left behind that you are indeed Fallen Never Forgotten.
